| The Department of Public Safety staff is on duty 24 hours a day, and regularly patrols around campus buildings and surroundings.
DPS officers are available to provide escorts and will respond to emergencies. It is suggested that guests use good judgment when walking at night, as one would in any large city. Emergency phones with blue lights highlighting their position are located all over campus with direct access to Public Safety. For security purposes, entrances to all residence halls are locked 24 hours a day and can only be accessed by residents of those buildings. To find out more about the services offered by the Department of Public Safety, call 202-319-5111 (or x5111 from any campus phone). You can also visit their website for further information.
